Roamolio
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Roamolio helps people discover journeys across Africa and plan trips. This policy explains what information we use, why we use it, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.
Who operates Roamolio
Roamolio is operated by Abraham Ogol. For privacy questions or requests, contact aogol@roamolio.com.
Information you provide
We use account details such as your email address and profile information; private trip plans, destinations, dates, notes, budgets and journal entries; content and media you choose to upload; messages and support or safety reports; and information needed to manage invitations, bookings or purchases when those features are available. Do not include payment card numbers, security codes, passwords or other credentials in trip content or support messages.
Google sign-in and identity
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides us with an account identifier and the basic profile and email information needed to sign you in. We use the stable Google account identifier to recognise your account and use email only for account communication and features that require a verified address. Google sign-in does not give Roamolio access to your Google Drive, contacts or other Google services. Email sign-in and recovery may be provided by our identity service provider.
Location and photos
Location is optional. If you choose to add or match a location, we use the information you submit for that feature; Roamolio does not continuously track your location. Photos and videos stay under your control until you choose to attach them. We remove location metadata from public media derivatives where that processing is available.
How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts; save private trip plans; show content you request; enable sharing or publication that you choose; deliver support, safety review and abuse prevention; and maintain, troubleshoot and protect the service. We do not use third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, session replay or product analytics in the first release.
Private trips, sharing and public content
Trips start private. Information in a private trip is visible to you and people you specifically authorise through the sharing controls. If you submit content for publication, a reviewer may inspect the selected submission and media. Only approved, selected information is made public. You can edit your private trip without changing an already approved public version until a new version is reviewed.
When information is shared
We share only what is needed with service providers that host or secure Roamolio, provide sign-in or deliver a feature you request; with people you invite or content audiences you select; and when disclosure is required to comply with law or protect people and the service. Providers are expected to protect information and use it only to provide their services. We do not sell personal information.
Payments
When checkout is available for an eligible offer in Kenya, Pesapal processes the payment in the currency shown before you confirm (KES or USD where offered). Your card or mobile-money credentials are entered with Pesapal; Roamolio does not ask you to send a card number, PIN or security code in a message. We receive the order and provider references, amount, currency and payment status so we can verify an order, deliver the selected offer, handle a refund request or investigate a dispute. Pesapal handles payment data under its own terms and privacy notice.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active. You can request account deletion through account settings or by contacting us. We revoke sessions after a verified request and aim to erase or irreversibly anonymise live account data within 30 days. Deleted trips can be recovered for 30 days. We generally delete uploaded media within 30 days of removal, support and moderation attachments within 90 days after case closure, and operational/security logs within 30 days. Encrypted backups may retain data for up to 35 days. A minimal pseudonymous deletion record may be kept for 12 months. We retain transaction and refund records only as needed for fulfilment, reconciliation, disputes and applicable legal or accounting obligations.
Your choices and requests
You can review and update account information, control optional location use, remove content, manage sharing, and request access, correction or deletion by using available account controls or emailing aogol@roamolio.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also have rights under the privacy laws that apply where you live, including a right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Roamolio is intended for people old enough to create an account under the laws that apply to them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who are not permitted to use the service. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
Security and international processing
We use access controls and other safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can promise perfect security. Roamolio and its providers may process information in countries other than yours. The countries and safeguards will depend on the services and markets enabled; we will review applicable transfer requirements before opening a market.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will publish the current version here and update the date above; where required, we will give you additional notice. Contact aogol@roamolio.com with privacy questions or requests.
